Convert a PDF to Word (DOCX)

Get the text of a PDF into Word so you can edit it. Paragraphs come across as paragraphs, and tables laid out in columns become real Word tables.

How to do it

  2. PDF to Word (DOCX) is chosen for you. Type a page range such as 1-3, 7 if you only want some pages.
  3. Choose Convert.
  4. Download the .docx file and open it in Word, LibreOffice or Slop Docs.

Your files stay on this device: File convert runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.

Questions

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?

No. It is text-based: paragraphs and column-aligned tables are kept as Word text and tables, but images, drawings, colours and fonts are not.

What about scanned PDFs?

A scan has no text layer, so those pages are marked as having no text. Run the scan through Slop OCR first to get its text.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and the Word file is written in your browser, then saved to your device.

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes. Enter the pages in the Pages box, for example 2-4, 9. Leave it blank for every page.
