Receive goods into stock and record the bill
Close the loop on buying: receive what arrived straight into Slop Inventory, then record the supplier's bill as an expense in your books, from the same purchase order.
How to do it
- Open the placed purchase order (filter the list by Late to see overdue deliveries).
- Choose Receive… The quantities go into stock, one movement per product.
- When the bill comes, choose Record bill… It is posted as an expense in Slop Expenses, with its tax to reclaim.
- Filter by To bill to see orders whose bill is not recorded yet.
To reorder a product that is running low, use Reorder in Slop Inventory: a new purchase order opens with the supplier and price it was last bought at, and a quantity that brings it back above its reorder level.
Your files stay on this device: Slop Purchases runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Can I record the bill before the goods arrive?
Yes. The bill can be recorded once, from an ordered or a received purchase order.
Can I change a received order?
No. Received and cancelled purchase orders are read only, so the stock and the books stay in step.
Does the bill count in my profit and tax reports?
Yes. It is recorded as an expense, so it shows in Spend by supplier, Profit by month and Sales tax by quarter in Slop Reports.
