Convert a TTF or OTF font to WOFF2
WOFF2 is the smallest font format browsers read. Open your font in Slop Font, keep only the characters you need if you like, and download it as WOFF2 with the CSS to load it.
How to do it
- Click Open… and choose the .ttf or .otf file (or drop it on the page).
- Optional: under Characters, type the characters to keep and click Keep, for a smaller file.
- Under Export, set Format to WOFF2 for the web (.woff2) and click Download font.
- Click Copy CSS @font-face and paste the rule into your stylesheet.
Your files stay on this device: Slop Font runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Is the font changed?
The outlines, metrics, names and pair kerning are kept. OpenType features (ligatures, alternates), hinting and variable font axes are not carried over.
May I convert any font?
Only fonts whose licence allows it, such as fonts under the SIL Open Font License. Many commercial licences forbid converting or self-hosting.
Is my font uploaded?
No. It is converted in your browser with Google's WOFF2 encoder built to WebAssembly.
