Slop Font · free, in your browser
A free FontForge alternative that runs in your browser
If you need to make or fix a font without installing a desktop editor, Slop Font opens in a browser tab, on a laptop or a tablet, and keeps your files on your device.
How to do it
- Open a TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 (an OFL font, say) with Open…, or start a New font….
- Edit any glyph with the pen and the Select tool, add the characters you miss, and set the metrics and names under Font and Metrics.
- Use Characters to keep only the characters you need (a subset), and Kerning for pairs.
- Download the font as TTF, OTF, WOFF2 or WOFF.
What it has: a glyph grid, a bezier pen, shapes and strokes, union and subtract, snapping, side bearings, pair kerning, tracing, SVG import, a type test, and TTF, OTF, WOFF2 and WOFF export. What it does not have: hinting, OpenType features such as ligatures and alternates (glyphs without a character are left out when a font is opened), variable fonts, or scripts beyond Latin in the grid.
Your files stay on this device: Slop Font runs in your browser, with no upload, no account and no watermark.
Questions
Is Slop Font made by the FontForge project?
No. Slopographic is not affiliated with FontForge. The name is used here only to describe what people search for.
Can I edit a font I downloaded?
You can open TTF, OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 files. Respect the licence: SIL Open Font License fonts may be changed, and a changed OFL font must not use the original Reserved Font Name.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in your browser and works offline after the first visit.
